Texas Hold’em Strategies

Aside from knowing how to read your cards, reading the other player is an important part to the game of Texas Hold’em.  Since this may not come easy when you first begin playing, you need to focus your strategy game plan on two very important factors:

  1. There are 5 community cards that each player shares and can use to make up their hand
  2. Each player has 2 pocket cards, and these are the only cards that provide you with the chance of winning, because they set you apart from your opponents.

You might be thinking “Well there’s a no brainier, how is that a strategy?”  The truth is it’s probably the most important strategy of all, because it is the basis that all strategies build on.  You need to think about how important the cards mean to your hand, just as much as they would mean to someone else.  Anything could happen, so be aware of the other players potential for any flush or straight possibilities.  Forgetting these simple Hold’em basics will prove to be detrimental to your game (The basics of the following strategy tips can be applied to all forms of Texas Hold’em).
